Practice:

Practicing independently since 1981, as an Architect, Interior Designer and Project Management Consultant, for a variety of projects spread across the Country.
Have designed, and got executed projects across 28 cities, involving a total outlay of approx. Indian Rs. 6000 million or US$ 150 million.

The projects include Speciality Hospitals, Senior Citizens Commune, Research Centres, Pharmaceutical Plants, Industrial Complexes, Commercial Offices, Residential Complexes, Service Apartments, Resorts and Showrooms, Malls, Multiplexes, Haveli, etc.

The scope of service for all projects included Planning, Designing, Quantification, Tendering, Supervision, coordinating, Bills Checking/Certifying of all disciplines including Architectural, Structural, Interiors, Air-conditioning, Electrification, Plumbing, Finishing, Fire-Fighting/Detection, Security Systems, BIS systems etc.

SOME RECENT PROJECTS:

• Responsible for Spearheading and setting up, along with a leading developer, a very large, unique and first of its kind commune for the elderly called GOLDEN NEST at Kalyani Nagar, Pune. This entire project of Rs 300 million was Conceptualized, Detailed, Furnished, Finished, Structured and Marketed in the capacity and role of a CEO for the project. After successful completion of the project now involved in running the commune in the capacity of an Honorary Secretary and Trustee.
• Involved in setting up a speciality Hospital in Pune with large developer group.
• Planned and presented a scheme to Wockhardt Hospitals for a 400 bed speciality Hospital in Mumbai.
• Planned, designed and executed the largest Eye Hospital of the country in Jalna spread over 200000 sqft.
• Involved in setting up a first of its kind National centre for pre-hospital care and Trauma Management Centre in Pune, with the help of Rotary Club of Poona, Rotary Club of Birmingham, the West Midlands ambulance service of U.K, the West Midlands Fire department, the West Midlands police department and the British High Commission.
• Planned, designed and got executed a residential School Project for 500 students modeled on the American system of education.
• Involved in setting up a 27 room service apartment project.
• Responsible to set up a 77 room service apartment project in Pune as CEO , in a similar capacity and role as Golden Nest.

Credits:

• Authored a book, “ TOTAL QUALITY ASSURANCE SYSTEM (DURING CONSTRUCTION)”, a 260 Page manual, documenting Quality Audit control, for all items during construction, pursuing Doctorate on the same subject at Pune.
• Featured on cover, with a 16 page article, titled “Going Beyond the Brief” in the “INDIAN ARCHITECT AND BUILDER”, the most prominent national monthly for Architects, in their August 1996 issue.
• Written about in article titled “Know him-Architect Mansoor Dalal”, in the September 1997 issue of “Real Properties”, monthly magazine on Real Estate from Pune.
• Written various articles in Magazines and newspapers on “Quality during Construction”, “Tips on Interiors”, “Home Décor” Edited an “Ask Me” column on Interiors and Architecture, in a Daily Newspaper and Monthly magazine of Pune.
• Edited an “Ask Me” column on Interiors and Architecture, in a Daily Newspaper and Monthly magazine of Pune.
• Compiled a Booklet on VISION, a Motivational Book on how to achieve Success with concentrated Action
• Moderated a Session with International Panelists, on “Best Practices for Design and Construction, relevant to India”, at the International Real Estate Summit 2008, Organized by FICCI at Mumbai.

Additional activities:

• Doing Project Management, Quality Audit, Material testing, Bill checking/ Preparation, for Projects of other Architects, wherein the manual on Quality referred above is implemented. Till date Projects worth Indian Rs 1000 million or US $35 million have been implemented. This activity is being done under another Company namely “Interact Project Management Consultants Pvt. Ltd.”
• Successfully ran a large Furniture showroom of 7500 Sqft, housing over 300 home products, extolling the maxim of “Furniture Shopping without Shop- Hopping” and “We Do Not Sell- We Help You Buy.” This activity was carried out under “Interactive Architectural Shoppe Pvt. Ltd.”

• Have retained clients consistently for the last 25 years. One notable example among others is MAHYCO along with its various subsidiaries and trusts whose all projects till date have been executed by me.

Social Commitments:

• Rotarian for the last 19 Years, Charter Member, and a Paul Harris Fellow, have served as Chairman on various committees, including Rotary Foundation, World Community Service, Vocational Award and Group Study Exchange.
• Commended for Best Rotary Foundation Chairman of the year.
• Past Secretary, Treasurer, Vice President and Past President of The Rotary Club of Poona, a 71 year old, and senior most club of the district.
• Convener of the Council of Secretaries, of all the Rotary Clubs of the city.
• Founder President of the Kondhwa Mohalla Committee formed for the betterment of the Neighbourhood.
• Was on Board of the Parents Teachers Association of St’ Anne’s High School, Pune, in- charge of overseeing the Construction of a large Multi Purpose hall for the School.
• Was Professor in Allana College of Architecture, having taught Intelligent Buildings, Professional Practice and Construction Details / Supervision to final year students.
